What is a "date stamp", and how do I decode one?

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

The date stamp is an embossed/imprinted 5 digit number on the back of every Toy Biz card. The first three digits are the day of the year (077 means 77th day of the year), and the remaining two digits are the year (03 means 2003).

This very important in collecting some of the variants, as they were produced between certain dates. Keep in mind that the impression isn't always under the UPC. It can be anywhere on the back of the card. Every box from the factory will have these numbers.

Look also in the Education Centre and Glossary of Terms for more definitions and examples of the Factory Date Stamp.
