2UP resin prototype- Newborn Lurtz of the Scott Morrissey collection.

I had the honor of visiting with Scott Morrissey, and he was kind enough to walk me through his vast collection. Scott collects more lines than I can even begin to write about. So, today I will show you one piece that stand out about the rest.

Pictured here is an original 2UP resin prototype of the Toy Biz Newborn Lurtz. This is a very impressive sculpt that I believe was done by Phil Ramirez. You can see how much larger they would make the prototype. This was done to get as much detail in as possible. The prototype would then be sent to China and a pantograph machine would be used to scale it down to the figures appropriate size. They would make a tooling model, that would then create the master steel factory mold for injection molding of the plastic figure.
