A striking variation exists with the Saruman The White from the early assortment of The Two Towers. 

Saruman The White figures found with Date Stamps of early 2002 were initially painted in an off-white colour that did not accurately represent the character from the packaging and the movie. 

This would result in a running change for the figure. 

This version of the character may not appear as obvious as the Gandalf The White variation, however modest differences can be seen, when comparing the two releases of the character. 

This version of Saruman has grey hair, with hair on both front left and right shoulder while the robes are also off-white.
