Barrett Johnson (aka grinmankey's customs) has been making custom figures for many years, but Lord of the Rings figures is where he got  started.  When the Toybiz run was starting to come to an end, realizing there were characters from the movies and books that still needed to exist in figure form, he used spare figures (from the many box sets) to give customizing a go.  It's been an off-and-on affair for a long time,  but LOTR and Middle Earth have always had a special pull.

Many custom figures and photos have been lost to time and defunct websites,  Ebay sales and downsizing collections, but recently, the LOTR collecting bug hit again he's been rebuilding his collection with favorites from the Toybiz line along with filling in with his own custom creations!
